June was tremendously busy here at Tertulia Cellars. Our first wine club shipment went out without too many hitches, bravo for our first time! A special thanks to Teddie for walking me through that process step-by-step, I couldn’t have done it without you. And, thank you Ryan for personally packing every box while I dealt with the paperwork end of things. Our wine club software system is invaluable, especially as our club keeps growing.
The rest of our tasting room decorations have arrived.
Now we have wall hangings, candles, vases, etc. to give the room a more homey, inviting feel.
Ryan and I both made trips to the west side in June (where we learned first-hand about the frustrating impossibility of parking in Seattle, and oh those one way streets!) and we can now be found in several restaurants and wine shops. In Ryan’s last entry, he talked about the wine shops where our wines have found a home; we are now also in several restaurants, including Restaurant Zoe, Volterra, Crush, and Smash Wine Bar, and next week in Chez Shea, all in Seattle. My husband and I happened upon Volterra by chance after a long day of fighting traffic in Seattle. We wound up on Ballard Ave. and decided to stop for dinner and we are lucky we did. Our dinner was exceptional and was complemented wonderfully by a delicious Super Tuscan. If you haven’t found them yet, I highly recommend checking them out; you will be astounded by their selection of grappa! Their wine steward, David Burgess is very knowledgeable and personable and he made our evening end beautifully. They are now carrying our Les Collines Walla Walla Valley Syrah and our Red Table Wine. In other news, Smash wine bar is holding our very first winemaker’s dinner with Ryan on July 31. We will be offering a sneak peek of our Semillon Ice Wine for dessert! Get tickets while you can, as seating is very limited.
Ryan is heading back to the west side next weekend to pour our wines at Cellars Wine Shop in Monroe. If you haven’t had the chance to meet Ryan yet, this is a great opportunity. He will be there from 5-9 to answer any questions you might have.
Cheers!
Christina
